2020 College of Marin Summer Career Academies

College of Marin and the Marin County Office of Education offer these educational academies exclusively for high school students — students who have just completed 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades (some classes are especially for 11th and 12th graders). These academies have limited space, and tuition fees are waived for grades 9-11, while graduating seniors must pay tuition. Other costs may apply for Health, Transportation and materials fees. Details about costs will be available at the orientation sessions.

APPLICATION DATES ARE APRIL 1, 2020 – MAY 1, 2020.

Career Exploration

Career Exploration is a credit-earning opportunity to develop and understanding of your skills and how you can best use them to pursue your career interests.

Introduction to Game Development

Digital Gaming

Learn how to create your own video games using Unity gaming software. Unity is the engine behind almost 1/3 of top games and storytelling projects and is used by Coca-Cola, Disney, Electronic Arts, LEGO, Microsoft, NASA, and more.

Health Occupations

Health Careers Exploration

Explore your career interests and learn the next steps in pursuing a career in the growing health care industry.

Health Occupations

Intro to Health Occupations

A hands-on introduction to health care occupations for serious students who learn by doing. Explore a high tech patient simulation lab and discover where you fit in the growing health care field.

2 college units.

SunPower Solar Energy Academy

Criminal Justice and Society

Study the legal, judicial, law enforcement, and corrections systems of the United States.

1.5 college units.

Alternative Energy

Explore the future use of energy through a hands-on study of solar and wind generation technology and electric cars.

  • All academies require application for entry.
  • Academies are for students who are currently completing the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades; some academies are especially for students who are completing 11th and 12th grade.
  • You may apply for and be accepted into more than one academy! The only exception is that you will only be accepted into one of the health academies (Health Careers Exploration or Intro to Health Occupations).
