This Fall, the College of Marin is launching a host of options as part of its new Hospitality Program, including:
- An Associate Degree (AS) in Hospitality Management;
- A Certificate of Achievement in Hospitality Management; and
- Two non-credit certificates: one in customer service and the second in ServSafe-based Food Manager Safety and Responsible Alcohol Service.
The Hospitality Management program prepares students for career-track positions in food and beverage, lodging, and tourism businesses. Classes incorporate the latest trends and skills needed in the hospitality industry. The program is designed both for students who want to start their career in the hospitality, as well as employees in the hospitality field, seeking to earn additional knowledge and skills.
The 8 hour non-credit customer service classes are geared toward the hospitality industry and address all facets of excellent customer service. The food safety classes are required by most food service establishments. Graduates of the program have the potential of working throughout the region and the world for major lodging and restaurant companies, food and beverage operations, theme parks and recreational facilities, plus many other tourism-related businesses.
